It's not directly related to small schools. However with Gene Smith he was always trying to make a name for himself by taking a guy really early. Like he knew something someone else didn't. He wanted to make a name for himself rather than elavaluate and pick the right guy. I was never a fan of his picks and even refrained from posting for a long time. Thank God that era is over because Caldwell has been a smooth operator so far. Only pick I did not agree with was a CB with a torn up knee so early... Coming back from those for a corner is nearly impossible. Revis is a prime example. However if that's my only complaint... Wow. Love Bortles. I think he's Big Ben 2. Elite
