TMD I don't think you're taking shorts' injury history into enough consideration.  No team is going to give a 2nd-4th rounder on a person that has had what 3? concussions now, add that with his groin injury from last year that killed his production.  He's a high risk medium reward player at this point.  If he had no concussion history, no injury history I'd be able to see some desperate team give up a 2nd, 3rd.

 

Furthermore, I think in negotiations every team will just point to this season and say, you're not a #1 WR.  He was pretty much shut out each game until garbage time when he got his numbers up except for a few games.  Now if he would have had blackmon production the entire season then I can see him fetching a draft pick, but at that point in time do you really want to give up someone on the upswing of his career that's demonstrating promise?  

 

Just seems counter productive to me. 

 

As for the depth chart going into the season I think it'll be Shorts > Sanders > Lee > Robinson but I think we'll be seeing a lot more 3 WR sets now. Especially if M Lewis doesn't step up his game to make it worth having him on the field now that we should have a stable line.
