The defense was awful. There was no talent there. The one guy I agree with you on is Daryl Smith, but he was hurt and there was no telling how he'd play when he came back, and if he was worth a big contract.

 

Cox was always hurt. I don't watch many Chargers games, so this may be hearsay, but I've heard he's not even playing that well. 

 

Knighton was overrated and Marks is already playing at the same caliber. 

 

Evans? Maybe he'll be a diamond in the rough. Maybe Miller and Hayes and Marks are pieces to the puzzle, but the centerpieces are the high draft picks-guys like Cyprien and Gratz. 

 

The offense is much more complete than the defense. While there was nobody worth keeping on the defense, on the offense we have the left tackle in Joeckel, we'll rebuild the rest of the offensive line, and have the talent at QB. Blackmon and Shorts have already shown that they're talented. It's also much easier to fix an offense with one or two skill players, compared to the defense.
