Early Roster Cuts: Rackley, Ebert gone
|
Quote:If it were as simple as that, Denard should be flourishing. Running in a zone blocking system may just involve one cut, but it's not an easy system. Getting the hang of zone blocking scheme is a huge undertaking for a RB if he's never played in it before. The RB is forced to make a specific assigned cut depending on on intricate readings of the the wash out of the defense and the way defenders are angled, and it typically takes a ton of reps to get it right. Lynch didn't really master it until his 2nd year in Seattle. Same with Warrick Dunn when Alex Gibbs came to Atlanta. And those are guys who had played RB their entire life. |
