QB Competition: Blowing Smoke
|
Uh, oh.....this is going to agitate the "WE MUST START BORTLES IMMEDIATELY!!" <bangs fist on table> crowd....
per rotoworld: ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed on SportsCenter the Jaguars want Chad Henne to start all 16 games this season. The Jags want No. 3 overall pick Blake Bortles to tote a clipboard as a rookie. "They do not want to put (Bortles) out there at all this season," Schefter insisted. "They want Henne to play, ideally, this entire season." The best way for the Jags to execute this plan would be to lean extremely heavily on their running game, and play competitive week-to-week defense. It will be tough, but certainly isn't out of the question if they can flirt with .500. It doesn't hurt that the Jags play in the league's weakest division. Toby Gerhart is going to be a bellcow back. |
