I also think Goodell has been pretty right on by and large with his rulings. I also know that many people need a designated Bad Man and Goodell fills that role for some.
 
I don't think Ryan Clark is showing much courage in speaking his mind (and more power to him). What's he got to be afraid of? Goodell going to pay someone to take out his knee?
 
Goodell's not stupid. He knows how it will look if he takes no action. And the NFL is always concerned about how things look.
 
You don't think Goodell would do anything to go after a guy that currently plays in the league and bad mouths him that way? I do.
