Blackmon isn't costing the team a dime in salary, or a roster spot.  At this point, he's just out there.  I don't see a sense of urgency to do anything now.  He's not a distraction.  He's not causing problems.  Why the hurry?

 

There is no rush, but cutting him and moving on sends a message to the team that they are serious about fostering a positive winning culture. There is no benefit to keeping Blackmon on the team other than hanging on to a stale prayer he comes back to the team and is committed. 

 

Is Shorts was in the same position, do you think the team would take a similar stance? My belief is no because talent wise, Blackmon is better, which goes to the point that you want to eliminate any perception of creating favoritism.
