If you take out his first and last season and 2010 as the outliers then he has about what I just quoted but his yards go up by about 50 per season. He's still around 2 TDs per season and 40 catches.

If you're going to throw out a player's best year, it's equally valid to throw out his rookie year when a player is just learning the NFL game. Doing this means he'd average 44 catches a game. Not great perhaps until you realize he's been tatgeted fewer times than almost any other player ahead of him statistically over that period.


Again, it's time to start looking at things in context.


Bottom line, he's a good tight end who's had to focus on pass protection during his career.
