Bottom line, he's a good tight end who's had to focus on pass protection during his career.

 

I just did the calculations. You said his first and last seasons weren't representative of his career, so I threw them out along with the most unrepresentative season he had, 2010.

 

What is this magical context that suddenly makes a guy who isn't good seem so good?

 

Is it that the o-line is terrible? Well, yes, it is terrible, but you can find TEs on the street that are capable of chipping an end.

 

If Marcedes were really the passing game player that people around here seem to think they'd have figured out a way to put him into all the patterns and let someone else (Greg Jones?) chip the end.

 

Facts are facts, he's a bottom of the league starter in the passing game, and guys don't generally get drafted in the first round because they're good blockers.
