if having two offenses against NFL policy, with the second one resulting in a four game ban is 'showing everyone his commitment to the team', well.... then I guess we should all be apologizing to Blackmon; the dude was obviously a super committed to the team....

 

Right. I heard the conference call where he made his announcement, and he didn't sound like a guy that was really done being a dishonest problem to me. He did what everyone in the NFL does, he didn't get specific about what he did, he continually tried to use nebulous family matters and issues to distance himself from responsibility for his actions, and didn't put himself into the sort of corner that people in his situation really need to be in to make a change. Also he should have been clear about his violation. If it were smoking pot then he should have just said that's what it was.
