I think you're being way too quick to write him off....

probably because it was me who suggested this deal....if someone else had written the exact same idea, you'd be tripping over yourself to say what an interesting/ good idea it might be, but since I came up with it - you search for reasons to hate it/ put it down/ find reasons why it wouldn't work.
