Then why didn't he receive similar numbers among whites, hispanics, and asians if it was all about platform.  A large number voted for him because he offered them free healthcare, and the rest because he was black and a democrat.  Hispanics are the next poorest ethnic group in the United States and that's where he got his second highest voting turnout; the hispanics who aren't poor didn't care if he was a black democrat.  Polling numbers support this.
