Training camp twitter updates

Quote:Have you never done two-a-days?Yep. Football is a sport of explosive movements and sprints at 100% effort, not jogging. Anyone who's ever done High Intensity Interval Training knows it's way more demanding than just basic prolonged repetitive cardio. This isn't spending 45 minutes on your elliptical machine while watching Sportscenter at the neighborhood gym, although many teams do lift weights and work on their cardio aside from practice. Also what separates these guys from regular joes, other "athletes", or even previous generations of football players, is the mindboggling amount of weight and muscle mass they're carrying around which demands hydration and oxygen. 165 lbs. dudes look at a training camp practice and think they can do that. Oh yeah? Put on 150 lbs. of muscle and then give it a go. Leonard Marshall was considered a physical freak of nature when he was playing 5 tech at 285. Today, Red Bryant is playing the same position 40 lbs. heavier. |
