Teaching the techniques is really not that hard, but my concern is that the techniques are really poorly designed. If you talk to any youth coach worth his salt, and there really ain't that many out there, they'll tell you that the technique basically sets the Defense back in terms of being able to stop a player. There are other much more effective ways to teach tackling, that isn't one of them.

 

I do agree that there is no way in the world a six-year old should be donning pads and I like the idea of starting contact around the ten year mark. Of course, High School coaches are going to lose their mind if this ever happens, but so be it.
