My musical tastes are all across the board.. Some really underappreciated albums in my opinion:


Matthew Sweet - Girlfriend. Some really great song writing here.

A.M. Sixty - Big As the Sky. This band didn't make it big in their time, but has been discovered by marketing companies as I hear some of their tunes in commercials at least once a month.

Camper Van Beethoven - Key Lime Pie. Pre-Cracker David Lowery. Such a solid album.

Midnight Oil - Blue Sky Mining. A lot of people know the band, but start to finish this is a great listen.

Vio-Lence - Eternal Nightmare. Do you consider yourself a fan of thrash metal? This is the greatest thrash album ever written. Period.

Dinosaur Jr. - Green Mind. If you are not okay with vocalists who wouldn't make it on American Idol, don't bother. Great alt guitar rock.

John Frusciante - Niandra La Des and Usually Just a T-shirt. After leaving the Red Hot Chili Peppers midway through touring for the Blood Sugar Sex Magick tour, John Frusciante went to Amsterdam and did a lot of smack. To feed this addiction, he made this album. The first time I heard it I hated it, but had to listen again. Recorded on a four track, some of the most out there, haunting, experimental tunes I have ever heard. Again.. Vocals leave much to be desired, and it took me a while to appreciate it, but really powerful stuff.
