When making my comment,  I was thinking about the 2008 election.   Regarding 2012,  you are correct.   Having said that,  I would take Rush seriously a million times more than Michael Savage.  The latter is a definition of a phony.  

 

Unfortunately,  I agree that history will probably repeat itself.
