What has helped the Seahawks in addition to Russell Wilson being still on his rookie contract is they have done an excellent job with late round picks and UDRFA's.   Players that often don't fit as well in other systems are often important complimentary pieces or better with the Seahawks.

 

Pete Carroll and Gus Bradley have a similar philosphy regarding a player's value. It's less about what a player can't do, and much more about maximising what a player does well. Look no further than Red Bryant's run stopping ability (and leadership) or Chris Clemmons pass rushing ability (Though he is very underrated against the run).
