The "Sit 'em or Start 'em" Debate

#31

Quote:here's the thing, sitting a QB does not necessarily equate to a better player. the only time i even fully see any benefit would be if he was sitting behind a future hall of famer or at least someone who has thrown more touchdowns than interceptions. the fact is to get the experience he needs, he needs to play. if they truly decide to sit him, based on how things are set up now, he's not gonna get that many reps after the preseason. which means they are basically deciding to waste a season with henne, because he not taking us anywhere. that's not to say that blake would be taking us to the playoffs either, but he could use that learning experience for the future. but the fact remains, a henne led offense isn't going to do much. maybe one game he might get a couple of touchdowns, but the next he's going to throw a few interceptions and zero touchdowns. i don't know about yall, but i don't wanna see anymore checkdowns when we need 10 yards for a first down. i don't need to see several tipped balls at the line of scrimmage every game. although henne's numbers look good last game, watching it is not the same. while he looked better than he usually does, it's still subpar. but when you watch blake, there is an obvious difference in the play. there are more shots taken down the field. when there are shots down the field, they actually are on time and perfectly placed. watch henne throw more than 7 yards, usually that ball is not very accurate and resulting in an incompletion. so they should start blake, as he has already shown that he has more ability than henne, and that he has a good grasp of the offense. the whole starting QB early ruins them, is false. gabbert was garbage in college and he was garbage in the nfl. we can't let the ghost of gabbert hunt us forever, when we have someone who is capable of playing right now.

I think this is for you.
