I was assuming you're in England since you proclaimed how great the system over there is, apparently you're just naive all the way around. In 2011 the NHS had to cut 31 billion from their fund and up to 20,000 NHS jobs. Not to mention raise the wait times on "non life threatening care" which is a problem since there's no competition. The beauty of socialized health care, wait until government says you're approved to be seen by a physician. 

 

Well looking at life expectancy every country I have ever lived is higher than the USA. Maybe socialised health care is good because it encourages people to see a doctor earlier and isn't just about profit making? Therefore stops many ailments before they become a major issue.

 

Not sure why you are so proud of your economy either, because I get paid more and get better conditions than I would in the US in a similar role, and if I did lose my job tomorrow I wouldn't have to worry about whether I can afford to see a doctor, what a terrible way to live...
