What happened in 2010 that stoped all the above praise?  He was drafted in the 2nd round by the Vikings and became the backup to Adrian Peterson whom nearly broke the most yards rushing ever award and is a 3 down back.



Despite that he had a few rushes while there....



He averages 4.7 yards per carry on 276 attempts and avg 7.8 on 77 receptions.



 



Last season, he led all backs with a ludicrous 3.8 yards per carry after contact (minimum 199 carries), and has a career average of 2.8 yards per carry after contact.



 



His 40 yard dash time is 4.53 its no CJ but he's not a snail either.

You could put the same stats for every Wisconsin RB that has failed in this league.  His Oline at Stanford was superior to the Pac12 competition. 

 

Kind of funny that he got the Archie Griffen award.  Would you like me to post his stats in college & the pros ?   Success in college does not always translate to the pros.

 

Regarding his pro career, that's also somewhat distorted because he didn't take the day to day pounding that he's going to take here.  By week 8, players are getting banged up.  Meanwhile, his body is fresh. 

 

We'll see how this plays out but I see him as very average at best.  Maybe a few decent years like Payton Hillis but I don't see him as a dude that accumulates 1,500 yards (rushing and receiving) each year for 6 years.
