I know this will dredge up some bad memories, but there were times where TC would try to get cure inside the 5 and throw the ball, with disastrous results.

 

In both AFC Championship games the Jaguars were in (1996 v. New England and 1999 v. Tennessee), the Jaguars were inside the five and threw a pass to the back of the end zone.  Both times, the safety read the play and picked off the pass.  It was virtually the identical play.

 

Back to the main point, I would love to see Bortles throw a TD or 2 against Detroit.

 

I think as good as he has looked, he has done so with little in the way of passing game contribution from TEs.  Though I know you are no fan of Marcedes, at minimum I think you'll agree he is better than the guys Bortles has played with in the first two preseason games.  I'd like to see him with an over the middle receiving threat.
