I had Bortles #1 on my final prospect rankings board. I had Bortles and Bridgewater neck and neck for most of the season and gave Bortles the #1 spot at the end. I actually was and still am of the opinion, which is complete opposite of DC and everyone elses, that Bortles was more ready to step in right away and contribute, while Teddy needed more time to develop.
Bortles has the elite pocket feel, gunslinging mentality, and improvisation to have success right away. I thought Teddy was going to be the slow-to-build, possibly higher ceiling quarterback. Teddy is more of a precision quarterback that needs perfect timing, a decent pocket, and chemistry. |
