Linder's grade may be +2.1 for 3 games , but he was beaten badly a number of times against Detroit. Bowanko MAY be the better option down the line, but he's not shown he's the "definite" best guy for the job right now. I'm even more surprised that McClendon is even mentioned at C or G. He's been shaky at both every game.

I realize Bowanko isn't the clearcut best option and he's likely to have some rookie gaffs if he starts.  I also am aware of the "piling on" with  the Brewster  criticism. 

 

I just think Brewster was given every opportunity to have a headstart on the position battle, told what was expected of him, given most of the first team reps early on, and STILL - he screwed it up pretty badly.  The big moments in which he was supposed to "own" the job - he practically stated a case for demotion instead.  I'm not sure how to interpret that any other way. 

 

Like I said, I hope he does some things Thursday to show he's not a bigger liability than the other starting linemen you mentioned, but as of now, he just is, IMO.
