***Official Jaguars Vs. Falcons Preseason Game Night Thread***
|
Tidbits from rotoworld;
The Jaguars are sticking to their plan of not rushing Blake Bortles despite him clearly outplaying Henne in the preseason. Henne has completed 25-of-38 passes (65.7 percent) for 231 yards with one touchdown and two fumbles through three games. He'll be on a short leash and need to be an effective game manager to keep the job. Bortles is going to push for starts sooner than later. Aug 22 - 11:41 PM Bortles came off the bench at the end of the first half and led the Jaguars to a field goal. He played with the starters for the first time this preseason and didn't disappoint. Bortles showed good anticipation on his throws and was able to lead his receivers into open spots. He's 28-of-44 for 435 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions through three preseason games. Chad Henne remains the favorite to start Week 1, but it's becoming clear Bortles gives Jacksonville its best chance to win Hurns saw regular snaps with the first team, playing opposite Marqise Lee in two-wide sets. He played in OC Jedd Fisch’s system at Miami and has shown good chemistry with Chad Henne and Blake Bortles. Hurns' touchdown came against second-stringers on an 11-yard pass from Bortles in the third quarter. He's now up to 13 receptions for 230 yards and a touchdown through three preseason games. Hurns is a candidate to start Week 1 over Lee or Cecil Shorts. He's worth a look as a late-round flier _____________________________ |
