I'm sorry, but yes you can claim lying when someone makes a claim that there is zero evidence to support. That's kind of what lies are.

 

There isn't "zero evidence". I linked an article from a preseason Eagles game that said Smith dropped two catchable passes. We don't know what Kotite said, but we do know:

a: Smith was injury prone

b: Smith struggled to learn the offense

c: Smith was cut by the Cowboys and worked out for three other teams (Packers, Chiefs, Patriots) that didn't call him back.

d: Smith was dropping catchable passes in the preseason.

 

 

I think it's equally stupid to say that the only reason the Eagles cut Smith was because of a drug problem.

 

Despite A, B, C, and D, Coughlin took a flier on Smith and it paid dividends.
