Shorts' agent should use Doug Baldwin's recent new contract as a template. 3 years, 13 million with 8.5 guaranteed. I think that's closer to what Shorts will get. Both have similar career numbers.

 

If its similar to those numbers, I'd be much more receptive to keeping Shorts around for a second deal (pending a good trade offer isn't out there)

 

But I think you are underestimating what Shorts will command on this current market. 

 

Riley Cooper has done less than Shorts careerwise, and got a deal $$$ higher than the above. 

 

Short's agent will likely seek a deal at or just below Eric Decker money.
