But I think you are underestimating what Shorts will command on this current market. 

 

Riley Cooper has done less than Shorts careerwise, and got a deal $$$ higher than the above. 

 

Short's agent will likely seek a deal at or just below Eric Decker money. 

Even Cooper's deal isn't so bad either. 5 years, 22.5 million with 10 million guaranteed. Jags can easily afford that and it's only two years longer than Baldwin's and 1.5 million more guaranteed. Seems pretty team friendly if you ask me. Besides to get all the money, I'm sure it depends on games played, Pro Bowl appearances, etc.

 

I don't know if I see the Jags going 5 years with Shorts, because Caldwell seems like the 3-4 year contracts type of guy, but a deal similar to Cooper's isn't that bad. A deal like Decker, though, no thanks.
