Saying I see some Gabbert in him also doesn't equate to me saying they are "twins" either. Just that that play reminded me a lot of Gabbert. 

 

If Mariota doesn't have to go through his reads often, then he would indeed have work to do/ adjust to a pro style offense. 

 

I would rather get a QB that is a better fit for what we're trying to do on offense than jam a square peg into a round slot. 

 

Mariota would be a good fit with certain teams, either a. a team with a similar style offense (Chip Kelly) or a team that has an offensive minded head coach and big time track record in QB development. We are neither.
