Jags outscored 33-0 in the second half. Is it the players or the coaches

Quote:I was just about to ask this. Obviously it's because the offense blows.

Yes, the offense couldn't sustain drives, and thus the D had to be on the field longer.  But I also think that when we get more depth and can sub in and out better, we won't be gassed as quickly.

Quote:Really, the main thing is we have Henne. 3 time outs because he couldn't get the ball snapped in time for a veteran qb? That's unacceptable.

Dude, each time out could be seen as miscomunication between the Center/O-Line and Henne.  If you want to lay all blame on Henne, fine.  But you're being disingenuous if you think it's all Henne's fault.

Quote:Not that Henne played a great game or anything, but I'm pretty sure one of those timeouts is on McClendon. Henne looked like he was having a seizure back there trying to get the ball, and then finally settled for a timeout. McClendon then proceeded to hike the ball as Henne was walking off the field. Wallbash Wallbash Wallbash

Pretty much.  And then on another timeout, you could tell Henne was trying to communicate something to the O-Line, and they looked like he was speaking Japanese to them

Quote:Yes true, one was on McClendon, but two were not.

I beg to differ.  Again, it really looked like the Center really had no idea how to decipher what was going on and what Henne was trying to communicate when he was trying to make adjustments prior to snap.

Quote:Once we got up 17-0, we completely stopped doing what got us there. They stopped going deep to Hurns and pulled the ole Del Rio "play not to lose" thing. Never works out well.

Exactly.  It was obvious Henne started getting tight with his throws.  But how much of that was Fische in his ear saying to manage the game.  The play calling became typical of last year, and the Iggles began to gain confidence.

We no longer hand them guessing.  They pretty much knew what was coming by the 12 minute mark of the 2nd Quarter...  I really wish Fische would just play call the entire game like it was the first quarter.  We'd be dangerous.  Even with Henne.  You can tell Henne is alot more comfortable when he's allowed to let it fly.

Why not just live and die by being aggressive?  I'm hoping Fische figures it out soon.  Of course having Bortles behind center might help.  But if Fische is dictating Bortles to be conservative, he'll be just as horrible as any other QB that's playing not to lose.
