He hasn't been given the opportunity to start, like he was last year. Until given the starting opportunity last year he wasn't showing much before then, either.

But if he had breakaway speed, and could produce at a high level, don't you think that once in 33 carries he would have at least gotten 10 yards on at one of them? McCoy is doing just fine behind the same O-Line he has a carry over 15 yards in each game.

 

What's important is how he plays against NFL defenses at the moment and so far he's not producing, even last season he had a carry over 10 yards in his first 9 carries but this season he hasn't even flashed that ability. Trading for Brown would be no different than drafting a guy because you really have no idea what you're going to get out of the guy.
