Time to move on, Washington's up next

Quote:Tell ya what, at least our points didn't come in garbage time like last year.

Our guys went out and kicked butt the first half.

The turkeys caught some very lucky breaks (having Cyp and Poz out ) got them back in the game and the crowd into them.

Things happen >>> fast in the NF...freaking L.
I won't say the Eagles 'caught some lucky breaks' since the same could easily be said of the Jaguars during the first half of play. Frankly, I think that with the history the Jag's have of losing games, I believe the Eagles thought that by just showing up the Jaguars were going to just role over dead.

Wrong.

We caught them off guard the first half, kind'a like the little kid that sucker punches the bully. We got away with it... for one half; but then the Eagles started playing like they were playing a real team... and the Jag's got their butt's kicked... again.

Nevertheless, it was good to see some improvement. No one was expecting a team with so many rookies to win anyway. It just stung worse because we had the lead at half time and then watched it disappear like a fart in the wind by the end of the game.

The unfortunate thing about this game (aside from losing big again...) is that a 'wake-up call' has now been served to the whole NFL. The Jaguars are not to be taken 'lightly' the way they deservedly have been in the recent past. While we don't have the run blocking to take advantage of a straight 'north/south running back like Gerhart, the O-line did do a reasonably decent job of pass protection; and we do have some offensive weapons in our receivers (albeit, the better ones are rookies). No one is accusing Henne of being elite; but the drops from his receivers in the second half of the game didn't help him look any better either. If some of those drops had been caught, we might still be celebrating a victory... but I digress...

The point here is that the Redskins might not be the toughest team we'll ever play this season, but now they know that the Jag's can open a can of 'whoop azz' and put points on the score board in a hurry if they aren't careful. They will bring their 'A' game. This is their home season opener and they've already lost one. They don't wan't to lose the home opener to the Jaguars! It will be a tough game...

I y'ams who I y'ams and thats all I y'ams...
