The point is We have had to change our security measures to prevent another attack from happening. Would you want to go back to the lax awareness that we had before 9/11?
Is cavity searching grandma really preventing an attack from happening?  Is her colostomy bag a WMD?  There's a line between preventing another attack and taking it too far.  I think we crossed a while ago.
