The fact that our starting C did not even play the position should be very concerning.  Why was this an acceptable group entering the season?  This is a massive failure on the part of the FO.  And what does that say about Nowanko?  Not exactly a ringing endorsement.  We are still in deep trouble with these guys.

 

 

The failure isn't this FO's.  Not yet.

 

The prior regime had its stated focus to build from the trenches, and we have nothing to show for it.

 

Shack and Jack never did fix LT, nor did they ever manage to draft a competent WR.

 

Neither of this regimes predecessors managed to hit on a QB.

 

That's why the rebuild here is so massive.  That's why it's taking so long to put all of the pieces in place.

 

Because of the Shack & Jack's failure to hit on WRs, and Blackmon's drug problems and Shorts' injury problems, the team had to invest in WR.

 

The team had to invest in a QB.

 

The secondary was so bad, the team had to invest in DBs.

 

It wasn't all going to be fixed in even two offseasons. 

 

I suppose one could argue the team would have been better served drafting an OL instead of Robinson, but it's too soon to tell at this point.

 

One could argue that the team should have invested FA dollars in someone other than Beadles.

 

But it wasn't going to be fixed in even two offseasons.
