Preseason is garbage. Its a cash cow for owners and  evaluation time for coaches. Judging any team or player results in these exhibition/evaluation games is for newbies to the NFL world.

 

So why didn't Henne blow away the field in the preseason? It's not like he played every snap against starters, and even when he was playing against starters they weren't exactly giving it post-season effort.

 

Even against the Falcons when the line wasn't letting guys just come free at him Bortles excelled starting the game.

 

If you want to be willfully ignorant then that's your prerogative, but we've seen a lot of guys play in the preseason, and you can tell an elite QB even in the preseason. An elite QB is the guy making the "not even on rosters anymore" guys look bad because that's what great players do against inferior opponents.
