How Will Bortles Survive Behind This Line!

Quote:But you also minimized the impact. Saying it's a problem, then saying the 3 guys who weren't replaced should have been getting used to the QB they were protecting. That's not how an offensive line develops. They have to get used to working as a unit regardless of who the QB is. If you're switching out 2 guys on the line mid-stream, that's a big deal. Any continuity you were developing just got tossed out the window and you're starting over.Actually that is how a line develops. They have to play with the quarterback to develop and learn the quarterbacks strengths and weaknesses. They learn that Blake can roll out and extend plays, so they in turn also learn they have to hold blocks longer. They learn that Blake steps up into the pocket, so they also in turn learn that they need to push the defenders away so he can step up into the pocket. All of these things are part of a line developing to play. Don't get me wrong like you have done. They also need to develop with the 2 new guys on the line, but they also have to develop with the QB. Had they been playing together for the past 3 weeks, it would be easier for the guys to help the new guys get up to speed on how they play with Blake. It does happen that way whether you want to believe it or not. Different groups of the offense need to develop with the QB. It doesn't matter what group that is.
In order to rebuild, you have to destroy.
