Everyone knew who Mularkey was.  He was the terrible coach up in Buffalo.  Many of us were bamfoozled by the choice.  To many of us it was just another sign that Gene Smith had failed.  Remember that Mularkey came in the year that we drafted a punter in the 3rd round.  Which drew a lot of groans from even some of the 'The Franchise is always right' crowd.  


I don't remember many people being excited by Henne either for that matter.  He was never that good in Miami.  He was 'better than Gabbert' for most everyone, and nothing more than that.  Don't forget that many of us were hoping for Geno Smith just to not have to deal with Hennebert anymore.
