Regarding playoff appearances, both coaches led their respective teams to the playoffs twice. JDR lasted until the last 5 games of his 9th season. Assuming Gary Kubiak finishes this season, he would have completed 8 seasons. They both had more than a fair chance to get beyond the 2nd Round of the playoffs.

Unless Kubiak can substantially reverse the direction the Texans have been going in since their less than stellar OT over the Jaguars last season, it's hard to picture owner Bob McNair giving Kubiak another opportunity. In truth, some owners would have fired Kubiak at the end of last season, even though they advanced to the 2nd Round of the playoffs a 2nd consecutive season.
