D Rob will be unquestionably be our number one back next week

Quote:Gerhart might be ok as a power back if the O-line could open some holes.  Since they can't, DRob is the better option.
No, hes not a power back. You see on plays when he gets hit he does not push the pile. The point of a power back is to at least get a yard or so after a hit by having the leg drive and power to lean the player tackling you forward. Slowby hits one guy and falls down. He is like Matt Jones, he is a big guy that has surprising straight line speed. You notice his big plays in Minn were plays with holes where he wasnt hit and basically just ran in a straight line, and because of his combination of weight and surprising speed he just has a lot of momentum. If he has to actually do something other than go north and south (with a 5 yard buildup) he is useless.

ABOUT US
The Jungle Forums is the Jaguars' biggest fan message board. Talking about the Jags since 2006, the Jungle was the team-endorsed home of all things Jaguars.

Since 2017, the Jungle is now independent of the team but still run by the same crew. We are here to support and discuss all things Jaguars and all things Duval!
