I think the problem with Michigan was they had a roster built to play in a pro style. They had recruits that were better suited to play a pro style offense, and that's not what he does. So his first recruiting class was a bit weak due to the major change in philosophy and change in personnel to run what he wanted to run. He just never had time to get enough recruiting classes under his belt. Arizona, OTOH, was already running a system similar to what he runs. The personnel was already there, he just had to add to it.
