IMO, Bradley is in over his head

One thing that stood out in TMD's initial post is where he wonders whether the coaching staff is overreacting to the INTs. And I gotta say, this is a concern that I share.
The overabundance of short passes is one thing, but reading the latest article on jaguars.com also leads me to believe the concern is warranted. The main theme of the article is that Bortles needs to be smarter with the football. There's a part in the article where Fisch singles out the first interception - the deep pass on 2nd and 28 from the Jags' 9 yard line. Fisch basically says that he told Bortles this wasn't the smartest thing to do. I found it incredibly strange that he'd pick on this throw since the Steelers ended up with the football like 45-50 yards down the field. The net effect of the play was equivalent to a good punt. The fact that Fisch would bring up this play - a play that may have actually been an upgrade over a punt - makes me wonder how close to the vest he wants Bortles to play. Troubling. |
