As Badger said early on, this is not unique to Jacksonville. Coming from the Boston area, I was surprised to see as many people leaving Alltel Stadium as I did, before the game was decided (this was 12-13 years ago) but I didn't care. Everybody can do what they want.

 

Now, when I go to an event in Boston, guess what...plenty of people leave early, just as many as Jacksonville and anywhere else and I've been to events all over the country. It's the norm, it's what people do. In Miami, I've seen people not even show up to NBA games until halftime (I get booted out of their nice seats). I often wonder why people even buy tickets, at Red Sox games, people spend the game staring into their phones and then are gone in the 6th inning but that's their choice. I don't care at all.

 

Personally, I stay until the bloody end unless it's a blowout. We get back to the car, pull out the chairs and there's a cold beer and a sandwich waiting as well. We then chew the fat over the game with the other people around us for an hour, then drive away on open roads.
