Notre Dame wins out, you've got a 1-loss team with multiple quality wins that won their conference (FSU) or played and beat teams from pretty much every major conference (ND) with their only loss being to another top 4 team. Put them up against the previous two mentioned conference champs and a non-division winning SEC West or 2-loss UGA team and I think FSU/ND gets picked.

 

They've done several mock committees now using the actual committee and/or sportswriter stand-ins on previous years and each time, they've gone 4 teams from 4 different conferences. Just a side effect of how committees and compromise work out.
