I think a lot of people vote along party lines.  I was that way in the first election I voted in.  I started changing around the time I had kids.  

 

While I agree that education is an important issue, where I disagree is that the government should have anything to do with it, especially at the national level.

 

As an example, what exactly does the Department of Education do?  What have they accomplished?

 

Just a few notable accomplishments by people educated prior to the establishment of DOE.

 

1. Developed the first computer
   
2. Put man on the moon
   
3. Invented and developed the C programming language (runs most everything)
   
4. Invented and developed the personal computer
   
5. Invented and developed the internet
   

Again I ask, what exactly has been done since the inception of the DOE?  What is it exactly that they do?
