Not as many matchups between top teams but I think there are some good games. I'll be at home this weekend. 3 of my last 4 weekends in Clemson, Athens, and Tuscaloosa. Will be nice to have the weekend off before heading to Jax for cocktail party.
my teams...
Vandy at Missouri - Mizzou will probably roll. One of these years I'm gonna head to Columbia Mo for this game. Know some Bulldog fans who have made the trip twice and they said they had a lot of fun both times. The only hope for Vandy to keep this close is that Maty Mauk is either real good or real bad. Wasnt very good against Florida but that didnt seem to slow them down though.
Georgia - Usual BYE week before the cocktail party
other games...
Ole Miss at LSU - Bayou Bengals have been left for dead but are quietly back in the top 25 with their 2 losses against top 5 teams(Miss St and Auburn). This isnt a great matchup for them though. Their QB situation still isnt settled. And Ole Miss is winning with a crushing defense.
Ohio St at Penn St - Ohio St is really starting to roll. Part of that is an easy Big10 schedule, but a lot of it is JT Barrett starting to get comfortable at QB. Penn St was getting some love earlier this year with the new head coach and QB Hackenburg in his 2nd season. But they've struggled in conference play. I'm hoping Ohio St crushes them.
West Virginia at Okie St - West Virginia coming off a big win and Okie St coming off an [BLEEP] kicking. WVU's only two losses are against OU and Alabama. Not a terrible resume. For whatever it matters, FSU fans should be pulling for Okie St. In the even FSU stumbles, would be nice for their non-conference schedule to be as strong as possible.
USC at Utah - both teams in the top 25 and both teams with only one conference loss. USC is another team kind of under the radar. Bad loss at BC. And lost to Arizona St on the hail mary. If USC can get past Utah, strong chance they make it to the PAC12 championship game. They should win their remaining games until the finale with UCLA... who continues to look overrated. USC would lose the tiebreaker to Arizona St but State still has games against Utah and the rivalry with Arizona.
Miss St at Kentucky - State should win this. Kentucky has run hot and cold this year. State shouldnt sleep walk through this game or else be careful.
South Carolina at Auburn - not really sure what to expect with this Gamecock team. Auburn should win. But SC has talent.
Texas at Kansas St - If Kansas St can win out, I think they've got a really strong argument for the playoff. Hard to know just how good they are. If they think they can run the table in the Big12, they should be able to roll Texas. Not sure if they've got enough offense to keep up with TCU or Baylor.
Michigan at Michigan St - Sparty should win. But you never know what can happen with rivalry games. Michigan has had a week off to get ready. And I'm sure feeling better about htemselves after beating Penn St in their last game.
Miami at VaTech - thursday night game. This used to be a huge game every year. Hokie are always at their best when they've had a dual threat guy like Vick or Taylor. Brewer hasnt been the playmaker they need. Miami is basically throwing away the year grooming their freshman QB. Hopefully it'll pay dividends for them the next couple of years.
North Carolina at Virginia - the two most underachieving programs in college football. I will say UVA has played a litlte better this year. Their loss to Duke was disappointing for them. Since they draw FSU, thats a guaranteed loss. Will be tough to overcome Duke nowt hat they dont own the tiebreaker.
Wyoming at Colorado St - McElwain is putting together a pretty good year for the Rams. Only loss was a tough one to Boise. Wyoming is a pretty bitter rivalry game for them. Get past the Pokes and chance to win the rest of their games. Could end the season 11-1 which would be huge for this program.
