For those of you who are hating on Joeckel, I have no idea why. For one thing, he's been steadily improving since he got here, in spite of a positional change and a season-ending injury (for example, on D-Rob's TD run, I saw him pushing two defenders back at once- his run blocking has gotten much better and his pass pro isn't far behind). Secondly, who would you have rather taken? 2013 was one of the weakest drafts in memory. Fisher is terrible, Jordan is suspended and not talented, Johnson got suspended and isn't talented... Joeckel got injured but he's coming back and playing at a high level.

 

Anyway, on topic... Linder and Bowanko have been huge surprises. I thought Linder was a reach just to have a starter, but he's playing like a upper level vet, and his ability to move to the second level is very impressive. Bowanko is doing better than you could ask for a rookie 6th round center... If he pans out to be a long-term solution (especially considering we got him with the Gabbert trade) it would be a coup for us and a great credit to Caldwell.
