I was referring to academic education, meaning having or not having a college degree, etc.  In North Carolina, democratic party gains are driven by well educated white city people and university people.   The country folks are pretty conservative.

 

I think there are a lot of studies that support the claim that the better (academically) educated people are, the more likely they are to vote democratic.    That doesn't mean democrats as a whole are better educated or smarter.   Just that the better educated people are trending democratic.  There are probably a lot of dumb democrats that bring the average back down to the normal range.   I mean, it is possible that democrats are both smart and dumb, but Republicans are average.

Of course, in response to this idea, there are thousands of articles by Republicans that "prove" they are smarter than Democrats.   Which may or may not be true.  So, no need to be defensive about it.
