I think there are a lot of studies that support the claim that the better (academically) educated people are, the more likely they are to vote democratic.    That doesn't mean democrats as a whole are better educated or smarter.   Just that the better educated people are trending democratic. There are probably a lot of dumb democrats that bring the average back down to the normal range.   I mean, it is possible that democrats are both smart and dumb, but Republicans are average.

Of course, in response to this idea, there are thousands of articles by Republicans that "prove" they are smarter than Democrats.   Which may or may not be true. So, no need to be defensive about it.

Not being defensive, and I think I get what you are saying.

All that I am saying is having an academic education does not necessarily mean better educated. I know of several people personally that have college degrees, in some cases even a Master's Degree that don't have a bit of common sense.
