Working on ones game to constancy usually takes years. He will continue to make mistakes this season. That is just something people need to be prepared to expect.

 

Bortles is going through this process for the returns he will bring 4,5,6,7 years down the road, not for this season.

 

People need the patience and the mental discipline to let the process work itself out.

Just to say, "yeah, he's making rookie mistakes" is to white wash the fact of what it really means.  He's making mistakes because he NEEDS MORE WORK.  If he doesn't work on his craft, he's not gonna be good.  

 

We need to see him progress over the next few weeks.  These mistakes he's making now are fine, but if they continue, it's something to get concerned about.

But that's what it means to make rookie mistakes. There are some faucets to his game that is just not there yet. Its a process that has to happen.

 

We are watching square one of that process. He will take these games this season and study them in the off season and come back better. Then do the same thing the year after. If he has the work ethic he will make it happen. The talent is definitely there though.

 

We have to just sit back and let this thing play out before we make a call it one way or another.
