Sanchez took his team to the AFC Championship game two years in a row. He probably means you must have a franchise QB to make a SERIOUS Super Bowl run in the playoffs. There are plenty of times that an average or so QB has made the playoffs and maybe even won a game, but to be a serious Super Bowl contender, your team needs at least a franchise QB, with few exceptions. ( Dilfer, Johnson, even Grossman got there, although he lost.) There will be a couple of teams that make the playoffs this year without a franchise QB, but they won't be anywhere near winning the SB.
