Our running game has been awful since Maurice Jones-Drew broke his foot two years ago. Denard Robinson is just now running a lot because Toby Gerhart hurt his foot and was out two weeks, so the coaches finally realized the wrong running back was starting all season. Nobody thinks D-Rob can carry the ball 25 times every week now, so Gerhart is still used as a situational runner.

 

If you ignore the eight quarters we gave up 119 points, our defense is in the top five against the run. Even counting that disastrous period, we are #2 in the NFL in sacks with 22. Brian Hoyer may not be as good as Andy Dalton, but 16/41 is a credit to our defensive line. But while we have been great up front, there are question marks at 2 linebacker spots, cornerback, and nickel back mainly because of recent season-ending injuries.

 

Our last playoff win was after the 2007 season. After that it was all downhill because of injuries and a bad general manager and bottomed out with a bad coach. We can't go any direction but up with David Caldwell and Gus Bradley and are really just going through growing pains, not short on talent. Half of our offense is rookies. The other half is second year players. The only veteran starter is left guard Zane Beadles, who sucks without Peyton Manning.
